What makes New Zealand a place beyond words, thoughts and conceptions? Is it the morning bird calls, the sound of dolphins at play, maybe a breeze gently blowing through a vineyard, or the cracking of ice from a glacier under your feet? Find out, as you begin your journey in Dunedin exploring the wilderness of the Otago Peninsula where you can expect close up encounters with penguins, sea lions and seals. Continue to Fiordland one of the most dramatic and beautiful parts of New Zealand where you will visit the Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Your next stop is Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world and then onward to wilds of Lake Moeraki. Head north up the west coast to Franz Josef where you will hike on a glacier and then cross the island on the TranzAlpine train to Christchurch. Drive up the east coast to Kaikoura to swim with the dolphins and see the whales. End you journey with a boat trip on the Marlborough Sounds. This is the best of the South Island!

Depart the USA on your flight to New Zealand, Cross the International Date Line and lose a day

Day 03: Auckland/Dunedin
Arrive in Auckland and connect with your flight to Dunedin where you will be met and transferred to your hotel

Day 04: Dunedin – Otago Peninsula
Today you will explore the Otago Peninsula and its wildlife with your private guide

Day 05: Dunedin/Te Anau/Milford Sound
Drive to Te Anau today and visit the local glow worm caves

Day 06: Milford Sound

Day 07: Milford Sound/Doubtful Sound
Drive to Lake Manapouri today and board your overnight cruise

Day 08: Doubtful Sound/Queenstown
Disembark your cruise and drive to Queenstown

Day 12: Franz Josef/Greymouth/Christchurch
Drive to Greymouth and board the TranzAlpine train to Christchurch on the east coast

Today you will explore the Southern Alps with your private guide

Day 14: Christchurch/Kaikoura
Drive to Kaikoura today and swim with the dolphins OR enjoy a pelagic bird cruise

Day 15: Kaikoura/Blenheim
Enjoy a helicopter whale watching expedition this morning and then drive to Blenheim

Drive to the airport, return your car and connect with your flight to Auckland
