THE SOUTHERN OUTBACK
Angorichina Station – Owned by Ian and Di Fargher, this pastoral lease has been in the Fargher family for four generations and features a native pine woolshed built in the 1860’s. Wildlife in the area includes Kangaroos, euros, emus and the yellow-footed rock wallaby.
Arkaba Station - Set among one of the most ancient landscapes on Earth, the areas geological history goes back 700 million years. Nestled next to the inspirational Wilpena Pound, your hosts are Dean and Lizzie Rasheed.
Prairie Hotel & Nilpena Station - Ross and Jane Fargher began sole ownership of the Prairie Hotel in 1994. They have embraced the old with the new, bringing a stunning new dimension to Outback living. Meet the locals and try the 'feral foods' and native cuisine.
Bruce Railway Station - This old railway station has been beautifully restored and offers comfortable, personally hosted accommodation by Tony and Maggie Gwynn-Jones. Bruce now consists of three cottages, a memorial institute, a railway station and a derelict hotel.
Baird Bay - Hosts Allan and Trish Payne were so enthralled by the beauty of the area that they decided to buy a property while visiting on holiday from Western Australia. Today with their impressive boat The Investigator, guests are given the opportunity to experience a marine adventure.
Portee Station - The original homestead, built in 1873 is the focal point of this working sheep station and has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur. Whatever you choose to do on Portee, the clean air and wide-open spaces of Australia's outback lifestyle will captivate your senses. Guests are invited to join in with the day to day management of the station.
North Bundaleer - Marianne and Malcolm Booth, the owners and your hosts, invite you to come and treat yourself to a unique experience of luxury and relaxation at North Bundaleer. The homestead has been meticulously restored from the brink of extinction, having not been occupied for 25 years, to its former glory by Marianne and Malcolm over a period of three years. The interior decoration is elegant but eclectic with many antiques and works of art.
Stranraer Homestead - This historic homestead has been restored to its former glory and today, hosts Graham and Lyn Wheaton offer a charming insight into life on their property. The farm is dotted with hummocks and two large lagoons.
Adventure Charters of Kangaroo Island - Explore Kangaroo Island with a local professional naturalist guide. The scenery is spectacular and the flora and fauna unique. The Island's diverse landscapes provide ideal habitats for sea-lions, fur seals, endemic kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, platypus, goannas.
Thorn Park - Your hosts David and Michael offer guests an opportunity to relax and be pampered with warm hospitality and fine food and wine. About 120km north of Adelaide along the scenic route to the Flinders Ranges, the Clare Valley has been described as "the most unblemished wine region of Australia".
Leigh Eldredge Touring - Leigh and Karen also offer guests the opportunity to be privy to many of the Valley’s finest winemakers and secrets. Where you can meet the man behind the wine and see the vineyards where the fruit ripens to produce such an inspiring taste. Rarely do travelers get the opportunity to see the secrets of this art.
Tower Lodge - Tower Lodge is positioned in the heart of the vineyards of the Hunter Valley at Pokolbin. The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest and one of its greatest wine areas. First established more than 150 years ago, it is home to some 80 wineries ranging from famous labels to very small 'boutique' winemakers. The Hunter is renowned for its full-bodied white wines, 'medium weight reds' and some excellent ports.
Paperbark Camp - Located on the banks of the Currambene Creek close to the famous white beaches of Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp was architect designed with both the environment and guest in mind and provides a beautiful and comfortable tented camp base from which to explore the local attractions as well as enjoy the tranquil bush setting.
Burrawang West Station - Overlooking the unspoilt beauty of the Lachlan River in Central NSW, Burrawang is a truly magnificent property. Lying in 10,000 acres of rich pastureland, this grand country estate includes the quintessential Australian homestead situated on a working cattle station, the perfect setting for a genuine bush holiday experience.
Deep Well Station - William and Mary Hayes were one of the pioneer families of the Alice Springs District. They arrived in 1884 with horses and bullock teams loaded with steel telegraph poles to replace the original wooden poles on the Overland Telegraph line. Today, six generations later Bill and Jan Hayes and their family own and operate Deep Well Station, a 2,000 square kilometer property in the Ooraminna Ranges, located just south of Alice Springs (40kms).
Longitude 131° - One of Australia’s most innovative camps in the Red Centre of Australia. 19th Century Western explorers who ventured into Australia’s interior made camp every night by pitching their tents where they could.
Bullo River Station - Situated in the top northwestern corner of Australia's Northern Territory. Bullo River Station has been in the Henderson family since the late 1950's when Charles Henderson - a pioneering American - bought the 1 million acre, undeveloped cattle property.
Davidson's Arnhemland Safaris - Mount Borradaile, hosted by Max and Philippa Davidson, is an exclusive, remote and very comfortable safari camp, nestle in a sub-tropical wilderness of timeless escarpments fringed by lily-covered billabongs.
TROPICAL QUEENSLAND
Tana Jane McCaldin Tours - The ecological significance of this region is truly amazing in its own right, but doing it accompanied by TJ and her close acquaintances will make this an experience that will not be forgotten.
Haggerstone Island - Pristine, peaceful and incredibly beautiful, Haggerstone is the jewel in the crown of island adventures. Covered by lush jungle, with white sand beaches and blue lagoons. Roy and Anna Turner arrived at the uninhabited island in 1985.
Tyrconnell Gold Mine - A combination of ancient and colonial Australia in a setting that typifies the spirit of the Australian Outback. It is a rare opportunity to visit this infrequently explored part of the world and to meet the people and live the life that is synonymous with bush spirit.
Poruma Island - is in Torres Strait between Australia and Papua New Guinea. It is a coral cay, the reef itself is just a few meters off the beach. You will be amazed at the clarity of the water and the masses of tropical fish and other sea life so close to shore.
Lizard Island - Lizard Island is Australia’s northernmost island resort. It is located 240 kilometers north of Cairns and 92 kilometers northeast off the coast from the remote township of Cooktown. Those in search of real escape continue to voyage from all corners of the earth to experience this rare and remarkable reef experience. Lord Alistair McAlpine purchased the house from the original family in 1982. Your host today is Liz Leigh.
El Questro Homestead - If you are looking for absolute luxury contrasted by the rugged Kimberley landscape, this is it. El Questro is now considered to be one of the world’s most unique holiday destinations. Over one million acres in size, it was developed in 1991 to provide a truly Australian destination.
London Lakes - London Lakes lies at the geographical centre of Tasmania and is Australia's only International standard fly fishing lodge. The Lodge is small and private, a very welcome haven for anglers seeking the very best of Tasmanian fly fishing, foods and wines.
Calstock Guest House - Ginette and Remi Bancal are the hosts of this eloquent guest house that dates back to 1831.
