Alison Nolting, President
As Vice President of our sister company, The Africa Adventure Company, Alison has used her many years of experience in travel consulting and marketing, along with her knowledge of traveling through New Zealand and Australia, to set up a company offering the same style of independent touring.

Unlike other companies whose brochures might highlight only a few standardized tours, the DownUnder Adventure Company promises to deliver a personalized approach based on first hand knowledge.

Juli Townsend
Juli was born in Melbourne, Australia and has lived most of her life in the area surrounding the city. She grew up in the Dandenongs, where her time spent exploring the fern gullies and bush around her home, searching for lyrebirds and wildlife, imbedded a love of nature within her. After she married, she moved with her husband to the Mornington Peninsula, a place where many Melbournians spend their summer beach holidays.

She has traveled extensively throughout Australia, often trailing her four young children with her.

Her family all agree that their favorite trip was the three months they spent traveling from their southern Australian home, through the center of the country up to Darwin, and then across the top from the west coast to the east coast. She loves the mystical Uluru (Ayers Rock), the vast deserts in the center, the wetlands of Kakadu and the geological wonders of the Kimberley Ranges. She has visited every major city in the country, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, Hobart and Darwin, and has also traversed the Southern part of the country from coast to coast.

On her recent trip to Australia in October 2007, she spent time in her home town of Melbourne as well as taking a few days to explore the Island state of Tasmania. She had a delightful meeting with our Tasmanian wildlife expert and guide, Craig, and visited Trowunna Wildlife Park for a ‘hands on’ experience with Koalas, Wombats, Tasmanian Devils and Kangaroos – wonderful!
